RTCs and people doing dangerous things in cars, reported in 2025

This blog maintains a rolling record of Road Traffic Collisions (RTCs) and instances of antisocial, illegal, or dangerous driving reported by the Worcester News in 2025. Efforts are made to consolidate multiple articles into single links and to exclude reports on historical cases currently in court. Each image provides a direct link to the relevant Worcester News article.

Acknowledging the profound impact of road traffic collisions, our deepest sympathies extend to all those injured and to the families of those who have lost their lives, as well as to those who have suffered property damage.

This blog aims to increase awareness of antisocial, dangerous, and illegal driving in Worcester and its surroundings. The goal is to challenge prevailing perceptions of the risks associated with driving, improve driving standards, and reduce harm on our roads. It is important to note that the term 'accident' is often used to describe these events. However, research indicates that approximately 90% of RTCs involve some form of human error, highlighting that these events are not simply random occurrences. Furthermore, media reporting of road collisions can influence public understanding and perceptions of responsibility. Studies, such as Fevyer and Aldred's "Road Fatalities: Media Framing of Vulnerable Road Users" report have shown that:

  • Driver agency is often erased in collision narratives, while agency for cyclists is often highlighted.

  • Pedestrian deaths are frequently presented as isolated incidents, rather than as part of a broader structural pattern.

As the year progresses, this blog may include commentary on language used in police and witness statements, and news reporting, to help reveal how these narratives are constructed and reinforced.

The rolling total of RTCs and other antisocial / dangerous / illegal behaviour by motorists reported by the Worcester News in 2025 is:
